NHS Fife are using our secure online portal – Patient Hub – to check whether patients still wish to remain on the waiting list for an appointment.

Patients who have been referred for an appointment will receive a text or email notification inviting them to log in to the online portal to confirm whether they still want to remain on the waiting list for a service or speciality. This allows us to understand if patients’ needs have changed.

We are initially rolling out to the following services/specialties:

  • Gynaecology
  • ENT
  • Urology
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopaedics

Patients will be sent a text and/or email from NHS Scotland, with a link to follow. Once they’ve clicked the link and confirmed their details, mobile/email and date of birth, they’ll be sent a 6-digit authentication code to enter.

Patients who have received a text or email can also access Patient Hub to see their referral by searching ‘Patient Hub’ on our website.

All patients with a registered mobile number and/or email address will automatically be sent communications to access this service when required. Patients are asked to make sure we have your up-to-date contact details.

If you are waiting for an appointment or procedure, we would ask that you engage with the service. If patients do not interact with the text or email, a letter will be sent by post.

Patients can opt out through Patient Hub or by contacting their speciality.
