Those aged 18-64 years old with an eligible health condition can now get the free flu jab at any one of 50 participating pharmacies across Fife (a full list is below).
Eligible health conditions for flu vaccination this year include:
- Chronic respiratory disease
- Chronic heart disease
- Chronic kidney disease
- Chronic liver disease
- Chronic neurological disease
- Diabetes
- Weakened immune system
- Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
- Morbid obesity
If you feel your condition or medication does not appear on the list, please talk to the clinician that manages your condition. They may be able to refer you for vaccination if appropriate. Anyone undergoing chemotherapy treatment or on medication that reduces their immunity is at higher risk and should get immunised.
Note: Children aged 2 – 5 years, alongside those in primary and secondary school, are also eligible although cannot be vaccinated at a community pharmacy. For more information on our children's vaccination programme, visit here.
