There is a red weather warning covering part of Fife and an amber warning in place for the rest of the region for tomorrow, Friday 24 January.
Police Scotland are asking people not to travel in these areas for the duration of the warning.

NHS Fife has made a decision to postpone all routine clinic appointments, diagnostics and theatre activity in order to keep patients as safe as possible. Clearly this action has not been taken lightly but due to the severe nature of the warning there is felt to be no alternative.

Clinic appointments, diagnostics and planned surgery
To help ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have taken the decision to postpone all routine clinic appointments, diagnostics and planned surgery. Emergency care is unaffected. In an emergency always dial 999. We will be contact you in due course to reschedule your appointment.

Care at Home
Care at Home will be operating as normal tomorrow for those in our communities - with the potential for disruption. Times of services may differ but staff will endeavour to communicate any changes directly as they occur.
Musculoskeletal Children and Young people, Learning Disability and Pain Management Physiotherapy services will be running an urgent only service. All patients due to have an appointment will have already been contacted regarding their appointment.
The Speech & Language Therapy Service will maintain critical activity on Friday 24th January. Patients have been contacted about any changes to appointments.
Following services closed:
- Immunisation clinics will be closed
- Fife Community Support Services (Day Services) will be closed
- Whitefield Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre will be closed. Patients will be rescheduled to next week.
- The Wells across Fife will be closed.
Pharmacy and medicines
If you have run out of medicines that you rely on and your local pharmacy is closed, please visit NHS Inform.
Energy and power services
Power Cuts are expected in this area, if you experience one please call 105.
Both Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and SP Energy Networks have begun making contact with vulnerable customers ahead of the storm.
Mobile Phone signals may also be impacted by the weather.
Travel and transport
Scotrail
All ScotRail services are suspended on Friday, 24 January 2025.

LNER
LNER Services will not run after 11am tomorrow in Scotland.
There will be no trains operating north of Newcastle in either direction on Friday 24 January and no LNER services operating in Scotland.As a result, passengers are advised not to travel to and from stations north of York on Friday 24 January.
Bus Services
Will be severely restricted. Check with the individual company for updates.
Stagecoach Services
Due to Met Office severe weather warnings for Storm Éowyn, bus services operating within red zone areas in Scotland will be temporarily suspended on 24th January 2025 to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Please check for updates regularly.

Schools and education
On Friday 24 January, all Fife Council schools and early years settings will be closed to all young people and staff.
