Health Visiting
Our health visiting service is still here for you.
During the coronavirus pandemic we are all working differently - following Government guidance but still continuing to support you and your child. Your child's health and wellbeing is hugely important to us, which is why we are still providing some home visits. If your Health Visitor has contacted you to arrange a home visit, please know that we will take care to protect the health of you and your family. Health Visitors will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) if they are visiting in your home. This is to protect the health of you and your child.
Home visits could be offered at any time but are more likely when you have a new baby. When 6-8 weeks old we will offer a visit to talk about your baby’s development, and about what it’s like to be a parent during this pandemic. Parents who have had a visit at this time have told us how useful it was to them. (When you take your baby for the first immunisations a GP will offer to complete a medical check of your baby. This is different to what we would do at our home visit so it’s useful to have both.)
Please contact your Health Visitor to discuss any questions or worries you may have. The number will be in your child's red book. Information can also be found on the ParentClub website www.parentclub.scot
