Following national directives around infection control it has been necessary to make further restrictions to birthing partners attending the Maternity Unit as follows:
- Only Women are to attend maternity assessment appointments.
- If a woman has to be cared for out with a single room due to their clinical condition their partner cannot remain with them. We will attempt to accommodate these women within a single room as quickly as is safe for their care, at that point a non Covid-19 symptomatic partner could attend and remain with them.
Can we also remind all women that unless you have received alternative communication, you should continue to attend the midwife/hospital for your planned appointments. You should also continue to contact your midwife/hospital if you have any concerns regarding your pregnancy.
