NHS Fife can confirm a cluster of COVID-19 cases associated with Ward 1 at Glenrothes Hospital.
Ward 1 provides rehabilitation services for adults. A total of 11 staff and patients associated with the Ward have been confirmed as positive for COVID-19.
The Ward is currently closed to new admissions and enhanced cleaning is in place to reduce the opportunity for further spread of the virus.
NHS Fife Director of Nursing, Helen Buchanan, said:
“We can confirm that 11 staff and patients associated with Ward 1 at Glenrothes Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our first priority is the safety of patients and staff and we have taken a number of actions in order to try to prevent further spread of the virus. Enhanced cleaning measures are in place, in addition to our already stringent cleaning schedules, and the Ward is closed to new admissions.”
