NHS Fife is pleased to announce the appointment of Janette Owens as the Health Board’s new Director of Nursing.
Janette has previously served as NHS Fife’s Associate Director of Nursing.
Janette has more than 35 years' experience in variety of roles across NHS Scotland and joined NHS Fife in 2002 as Deputy Director of Nursing in Acute Services.
The role of Director of Nursing is currently held by Helen Buchanan who is retiring early next year.
Carol Potter, Chief Executive of NHS Fife, said:
“I am delighted that Janette will be taking up the position of Director of Nursing with NHS Fife.
“Janette has garnered considerable experience throughout her career in the NHS and more recently has been an outstanding Associate Director of Nursing.
“Having worked closely with Janette in recent months as part of NHS Fife's response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, I have seen first-hand the leadership she has shown in steering NHS Fife through the most challenging of circumstances.
“I look forward to working alongside her in her new role as Director of Nursing as we continue to work through and address the challenges that COVID-19 brings to the NHS and our communities.”
On accepting the appointment, Ms Owens said:
