Transport officials have closed the Queensferry Crossing due to a risk of falling ice. This has happened overnight after snowfall across Edinburgh and Fife.
BEAR Southeast Trunk Roads, which maintains the bridge, told drivers not to use the Forth Road Bridge but to divert via the A985 Kincardine Bridge instead.
There are currently AMBER and YELLOW weather warnings in place on either side of the crossing. Staff are reminded if travelling to Fife across the bridge (and currently this should be for work purposes only) to divert via Kincardine Bridge.
