The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) recently announced changes to the eligibility criteria for second and booster COVID vaccinations, and advised a reduction in the time necessary between doses. You can read this here.
Work is underway in Fife, as it is elsewhere in the country, to put the necessary legal documentation in place to enable us to implement these changes and deliver second and booster doses to the additional groups of people now eligible for further COVID vaccination.
We anticipate that we will be in a position to implement this updated JCVI guidance in the coming days and will make a further announcement to that effect.
In the meantime, please only book an appointment or attend a drop-in clinic for a COVID booster if you are at least 24 weeks from your second dose. You can find out more about whether you are currently eligible at: www.nhsinform.scot/vaccinebooking
