Phase 3 - Victoria Hospital VHK

As part of our ongoing commitment to patient safety and high-quality care, routine inspections at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, have identified corrosion within part of the wastewater piping system in Phase 3.

To address this, scheduled maintenance and pipe replacement upgrading work will take place for up to three weeks from Sunday April 27th.

This essential work will temporarily impact bed capacity within our Renal, Paediatric, and Neonatal wards.

The wider hospital is unaffected by these works and will continue to operate as normal. Robust planning has been carried out and we are working closely with the hospital’s maintenance to manage the works efficiently and safely.

In parallel, we are carrying out impact assessments to guide appropriate mitigations for the services affected with this work, including on-going collaboration with neighbouring health boards to ensure mutual aid arrangements are in place for our Neonatal Service.

Our priority is to maintain safe, person-centred care throughout this period, and we remain focused on meeting the individual needs of our patients.

We thank our patients, families, and staff for their understanding and support as we complete this vital maintenance and apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause.
