NHS Fife Appoint New Chief Operating Officer

NHS Fife is delighted to announce the appointment of Ellen Ryabov as NHS Fife’s new Chief Operating Officer (Acute Services). Ellen will take up post on the 28th January 2019, succeeding the current post holder, Jann Gardner who has worked with NHS Fife for over 3 years.

Ellen is currently Chief Operating Officer with Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust a post she has held since April 2016

Prior to this she has spent the last five years working at Director level in various NHS organisations on an interim basis. This included 2 years at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, latterly as their Interim Chief Operating Officer. Her last substantive NHS role was Chief Operating Officer at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.

Ellen has worked in the NHS for 28 years, starting her career as a Finance Trainee in the Scottish Health Service, following which she moved from finance into general management.

Ellen transferred to the English NHS system in 2001 working as a General Manager and then Executive Director of Operations in London and the South East.

Ellen was appointed following a rigorous recruitment campaign. Throughout the process, NHS Fife Board was clear that it was looking for a highly motivated and driven individual who would bring the right skills and experience to NHS Fife.
