Congratulations to Consultant Physician, Dr Andrew Storey, on being awarded the prestigious Chiron Medal for Excellence in Medical Education by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.

Dr Storey received the internationally recognised award for his services to medical education and the work he does with medical students on placement in Fife. Dr Storey is the lead tutor for students from the University of Edinburgh.

Andrew said: “It has always been my greatest pleasure to positively influence the next generation of doctors. Over the last seven years that I’ve been tutoring at the Vic I’ve supported around 400 medical students. I get around 12 students at a time for the six to eight weeks that they spend with us on placement.”

The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh was founded in 1681 and sets standards for healthcare and medical training. It currently has over 12,000 members worldwide.
