THE INDUCTION PROCESS

 Background

Once a medical student has graduated, they now have several years of training to hone their skills with a view to specialising in an area of medicine they find interesting.

All trainees will rotate through the hospital until they reach a senior level.  The key day for rotations is the first Wednesday of the month which is August, December, February and April.

Trainee Doctors Corporate Induction (TDCI)

TDCI is held in the Education Centre, Level 2, Phase 2 starting at 8:00 am.

There are 3 sections to TDCI:-

Corporate Induction: This session is mandatory if you have not completed TDCI within the last 12 months or are new to NHS Fife.

Departmental Induction: You need to attend this if you are changing speciality.

Doctors Learnpro: All trainee doctors will complete these online modules.  These are time framed.  If no modules have been done within 2 years you will need to complete the current modules.

Ensure that details are updated to reflect your current post.

Any queries please contact Ann Sheach (ann.sheach@nhs.net).

Any Trainee starting on nights the day of TDCI or finishing nights the day before are exempt from attending TDCI.  You must contact Alex Mackay (alexander.mackay@nhs.net) so that alternative arrangement can be put in place for you.
