A team of Specialist Diabetes Dietitians provide support across Fife for people with all types of Diabetes in the hospital and primary care clinics. Having well controlled diabetes is down to managing diet, lifestyle and medications effectively, allowing people to get on with the things the enjoy doing in life.  Dietitians have a key role to provide accessible and practical nutrition information that is evidence based.  They work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team and within a care pathway that includes structured patient education, Insulin Pumps, pregnancy, young people’s & transition service.

Dietitians are registered with the Health Care Professions Council, and the title 'Dietitian' is the only nutrition title to be protected by law.   The professional body, the British Dietetic Association, are hosting the Trust a Dietitian campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of choosing a Dietitian, and the differences between Dietitians, nutritional therapists and other so called 'diet experts'.
