Individual support sessions with a trained advisor are available in a number of local GP practices and community venues throughout Fife at different times, including evenings. The support consists of a 7-12 week programme of support to help you stop smoking, plus advice on medication such as NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy), Champix and Zyban.

Support during pregnancy
Many parents-to-be think it will be easy to stop smoking during pregnancy for the sake of the baby. Instead they still find it a struggle. Quit Your Way Pregnancy is for pregnant women and their partners who want to stop smoking and who want help. The service offers ongoing support before and during pregnancy and after the baby is born.

Your local community pharmacy offers a 12-week programme of individual support, NRT or other medication. The support is tailored to your needs and is provided by friendly, trained staff. Simply pop into your local pharmacy and ask about support to stop smoking.
Quitfit is a free smoking cessation programme which provides support in conjunction with promotion of healthy lifestyles and physical activity. It is supported by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust (FSLT) in partnership with NHS Fife’s Stop Smoking Service's Team.
The service is available to communities throughout Fife and offers smoking cessation advice in a community-based setting, encouraging physical activity to boost long-term positive healthy behaviour change at the time of the quit attempt.
A 4 week fitness pass is available to clients who sign up to the Quitfit programme.
Sessions are held weekly on Tuesday evenings at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre (passes can be used in any FSLT venue).

GP practice support
GPs can prescribe products to help you stop smoking but many people find extra support crucial to having a successful quit. Stop smoking clinics run in many GP Practices across Fife offering individual support for people who want to stop smoking. Contact your local practice/surgery for more details or to book in to see an adviser.
