Fife NHS Psychology Department is managed within the Dunfermline and West Fife Community Health Partnership but provides services to the whole of Fife. The Departments services are organised into several specialities (See psychology services).
The Department employs staff who specialise in different areas of practice. Most are Practitioner Clinical Psychologists. They use a range of assessments and therapies and also provide psychological advice. There are also Cognitive-Behavioural Therapists and Primary Care Psychologists. These are staff who have trained in particular types of counselling and brief therapy. We also employ Health Psychologists who work with people to help them cope with physical health problems.
The department has a large number of Clinical Psychology Trainees and staff also supervise people training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (See training). The Department also offers a range of training courses and seminars (See training).
