Reboot - NHS Fife's Website Project

Work has just started to create a new website, hosting and development platform to advance NHS Fife’s web presence and provide an easy to access resource hub for our patients, staff, partner organisations and wider stakeholder groups.

Used in equal measures by patients, services users, staff and the general public, the current NHS Fife website was developed in 2007 and contains over 67,000 pages, files, documents and articles and on average the site gets over 200,000 page views a month.

We are aware that our dated website design and structure can be difficult to navigate and impacts on users experience. Given the rapidly changing demographics of our service users, many expect to engage with us first via our website

The website and new dedicated staff area (to replace the current NHS Fife Intranet) will be constructed to meet our user needs and incorporate current best practice in User Experience (UX)

With increased mobile and tablet device usage our new website will flexible and responsive design approach that will allow easy access of relevant information through various touch points and also improve transparency.

The new web presence will use latest technology and functionality to enhance the users’ experience, with enhanced search, clear navigation and track able campaign pages, while making full use of rich media to enhance engagement.

How can you get involved?

Today we have launched new online survey to help us understand what information people would like to access online. As a member of NHS Fife staff we would encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey at the link below:

Over the coming weeks and months we will also be providing regular updates on the project, including key deadlines, guidance on new content development and information on how we will manage the switch over from our current platform to the new website.
