Role of the physiotherapist
The role of the physiotherapist is to assess and treat any difficulties with movement that you experience. We use a range of approaches that are tailored to individual needs, to maximise potential and wellbeing.
Where you will be seen
We see patients from all over Fife. You are most likely to attend our unit for physiotherapy as an out-patient. We can provide some appointments remotely by video or telephone consultation and we may see you at home if that is required.
The aim of the physiotherapy treatment may be to –
- Rehabilitate
- Slow down deterioration
- Maximise potential
We will support you to continue to manage your condition. Once you have been seen by the physiotherapy service you can self refer for further advice / input in the future.
If you are a patient on our ward you will be assessed and treated by our physiotherapy team. We work closely with you and your family in order to achieve your goals, plan for the future and support your discharge from hospital.
Physiotherapists in both the ward and out-patient settings work closely with other members of the rehab team at FRS to ensure a high standard of service is provided.
All of our patients are seen in the physiotherapy gym located in the rehabilitation unit.
