Cutting your toenails
Try cut your toenails straight across, leaving them slightly long so that the corners rest gently against the skin at the sides. Avoid trimming them too short, rounding the edges, or cutting them into a V-shape, as this can lead to problems like ingrown toenails.
Use nail clippers to cut your toenails straight across, then smooth any sharp edges with a nail file to avoid snagging or irritation. Remember to cut your nails carefully in a well-lit room.
It's especially important to take extra care to prevent injuries to your feet while cutting your nails.
Do
file your nails twice a week if you find it difficult to cut your nail
file in one direction, away from your body
cut following the natural shape of your nail
Don't
do not cut down the side of your nail
do not pick or tear your nails
do not cut your toenails too short
do not cut a āvā shape in to your nail
