nurse looking at patients nail

Nail surgery is a minor surgical procedure to remove all or part of a nail under local analgesia. Following the removal, the nail bed is treated with a chemical to stop the nail from growing back again.

The estimated healing time for this procedure is approximately 6-12 weeks*

Patients attend as outpatients thereby preventing the need for hospital admission. Nail surgeries are located at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline, Whytemans Brae Hospital Kirkcaldy,  Glenrothes Hospital and Adamson Hospital Cupar.

* All timescales are approximate and we cannot guarantee exactly how long a wound will take to heal.
