Fostering, Adoption & Kinship Care
We believe that foster care is the best alternative for most children who can’t live with their birth families.
We need foster carers who will protect children, promote their rights and maximise their life chances.
Go to foster.fife.scot for more information and to apply online.
Adoption is a life-changing decision. If you are thinking about adoption we ask that you come with an open mind. We are looking for people willing to consider a child or siblings in the age range 18 months to 6 years old. We have lots of information about Adoption on FifeDirect.
Some young people experience difficulties with the transition from care to independent living so Fife Council have set up the Supported Lodgings Scheme to try and make this move easier. Contact Ellie Hague, Social Worker Tel: 03451 55 55 55 + Ext 47 05 98 to discuss and ask questions.
When parents are unable to look after their children, relatives or family friends will sometimes step in and offer to help. A Kinship carer is someone that cares for a child who is not their own but is either related to them or has a close relationship with the child.
Fife Council Kinship Care Team offers support, information and advice to kinship carers, so they are better equipped to meet the needs of the children and young people in their care.
