Your accommodation will look similar to the photos above. We aim to provide a high standard to all of our residents, you will be sharing your block with Locum medical staff and some medical students.
Features
Leven Flats, A & B are made up of two single rooms with shared kitchen, bathrooms & sitting areas. The flats have recently been refurbished throughout, benefitting from new furniture, carpets and blinds. The kitchens have a cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine, kettle, iron and ironing board. Utensils and crockery are also available for you to use.
Leven A & B are accessible via a secure/locked front door which takes you in to the main hallway leading to the kitchen and sitting room . Upstairs provides access to the 2 x bedrooms which have secure doors. The bathroom is also on this floor, which benefits from both bath & shower.
Tummel flats are a slightly different layout and have also been refurbished, benefitting from the same facilities as listed for Leven (above).
The entrance to Tummel block is via the secure front door with flats on each level. The individual flats have bedrooms and shared kitchen, sitting area and bathroom facilities.
Washing machines and dryers are based separately within a laundry room on the ground floor of Katrine block. There is no charge for the use of the laundry facilities although you will need to provide your own laundry detergent. Heating, lighting, water and bedding are provided. You are responsible for cleaning your own room and a Domestic (cleaning) Service is provided to the communal/shared areas

Hospital shuttle bus
NHS Fife provide a shuttle bus service between QMH and Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for staff that needs to commute between the two hospitals. A copy of the timetable will be displayed at the entrance to each of the blocks.
Queen Margaret train station is approximately 3 minutes by foot from the main hospital site.
Dunfermline bus station is approximately 40 minutes by foot. There are a number of local buses to the main bus station which stop at the hospital regularly and timetables are displayed at the bus stop.
No 33 / 33A bus runs regularly between Queen Margaret Hospital & Dunfermline bus station.
No 19 bus runs regularly throughout the day, the bus stop for this bus is located at the bottom of Whitefield Road.
A local GP Surgery is located approximately 5 minutes away.
There is a retail park for shopping 15 minutes walk from the hospital site and benefits from Asda, Homebase, Argos and other shops and eating places.
Aldi is also approximately 20 minutes by foot.
For day to day items there is a Co-operative store 5 minutes by foot which has a pharmacy next door.
